sitejet builder moving boxes
Switching web hosts? Don’t worry — if your site is built with Sitejet Builder in cPanel, migrating it is simple and keeps everything editable.
Sitejet’s Share & Copy Website feature lets you transfer your design, pages, images, and settings using a simple code — no rebuilding required!
This works because Sitejet Builder creates static files (no database needed), so you just copy the site structure and republish on the new host.
Important: This guide is for Sitejet Builder integrated in cPanel (not Sitejet Studio). If your old host uses something different, contact their support first.

What You’ll Need Before Starting

  • Access to your old cPanel account (where the site currently lives).
  • Your new cPanel hosting account set up with the domain added (as primary or addon domain).
  • The domain’s document root (like public_html) on the new host should be empty or backed up — publishing will overwrite files there.
  • Any emails, custom files, or extras? Handle those separately (more on that below).

No tech skills needed — it’s all point-and-click!

Step-by-Step: Migrate Your Sitejet Site
Step 1: Get Your Share Code from the Old Site

Log in to your old cPanel.

Go to Domains > Sitejet Builder.

Find your domain and click Edit Site — this opens the Sitejet editor/CMS.

In the top-left (burger menu ☰), select Share & Copy Website.

Under Share Website, choose One-time or Perpetual from the dropdown:

  • One-time: Good for a single move (code expires after use).
  • Perpetual: Reusable (handy if testing).
Click Generate, then copy the 15-digit code (it looks like 263e457a-407129).
Step 2: Set Up Sitejet on Your New Host
Log in to your new cPanel.

Go to Domains > Sitejet Builder.

Find your domain and click Try Sitejet or Create Website.

Pick any template to start (don’t worry — it’ll get replaced).

Complete the quick setup to enter the Sitejet CMS/editor.

Step 3: Paste the Code to Copy Your Site
In the new Sitejet CMS, open the burger menu ☰ again.

Go to Share & Copy Website.

Under Copy Website, paste your share code from Step 1.

Click Start > Confirm.

Sitejet pulls in your pages, images, styles, and settings. Give it a moment to finish.

Step 4: Review, Tweak, and Publish

Browse your copied site in the editor.

Update anything needed: contact details, forms, SEO titles (under Data or SEO/Meta tabs), or broken links.

When ready, click Publish (top right). This deploys your site files to the new host’s folder.

If asked, create a restore point first — it’s a quick backup!
Step 5: Handle Extras and Go Live
  • Emails or files: Use cPanel’s Backup Wizard to export from old → import to new, or ask your new host for help.
  • SSL: Enable free SSL in cPanel (AutoSSL or Let’s Encrypt).
  • DNS: At your domain registrar, change nameservers to your new host’s (takes 1–48 hours). For zero downtime, test first with a temporary URL or hosts file edit.
  • Backups: In Sitejet CMS > Backups, save a snapshot before and after.
Test everything: forms, mobile view, links. Once happy, your site is live on the new host — fully editable in Sitejet!

Quick Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Code not working? Double-check it’s correct and not expired (try generating a new perpetual one).
  • Want to keep the old site as backup? Don’t delete it until everything’s live.
  • Forms: Sitejet sends via email — re-test and update recipients if needed.
  • Stuck? Reach out to your new host’s support — many offer free migration help for Sitejet sites.

Migrating doesn’t mean starting over. With this method, your site moves seamlessly while staying easy to update.
